Hi,
My work this week has
been kind of slow although we have had some progress. We are making really good
friends with this family who are not members. They are very, very talented with
singing and they are helping us prepare to sing at a musical fireside. We invited
them and they are willing to join with us and sing. It's really fun and we go
over there a lot. It is a married couple and they are really nice and I want to
invite them to listen to the message and see if they will be baptized. I don't
know what their response will, be but I will probably try to ask them this
week. They are both really talented
singers and the girl won the Best in Tonga award at one point with her dad and
sister. So yeah, it's a pleasure to work with them because we get to hear
beautiful singing.
Something funny that
happened was we had our ward conference this week. One of the activities was a
primary talent show; this was hilarious to watch. There was a lot of people
doing the traditional Tongan dancing called the ta'olunga and then there was
also a lot of just dancing like crazy. It was super hilarious. Island people
are very talented at moving their hips. There were these three girls who did a
routine, it was a really risqué dance though. If they did that in America, the
bishop would be interviewing the girls, and parents. The girls were about 7, 10
and 11. They wore miniskirts and tall, black leather boots; it was funny and
weird at the same time. The members were just busting up laughing, but I guess
if that's your talent you should make use of it.
Other than that, stuff
is just plugging along. I’m trying to overcome problems and trying the best I
can, hopefully I am succeeding.
